The frame and spool are machined from solid aluminum; rims milled, spool centers drilled or cut to reduce weight. Drag is spring‑and‑pawl: use riveted pawls engaging in gear check wheel or spring tensioned via an external knob. Line guard is fitted, likely nickel silver or plated metal. Spindle, screw threads, and bearing surfaces are precision ground to minimize run‑out and rattle. Finish is bright metal, anodized or polished with lacquer, with visible machining marks. Original parts produced to tolerances enabling spare parts fitting even decades later.
