Classic Waxed Thread 12/0 is part of the Semperfli 12/0 (70 denier) range of Classic Waxed Threads (CWT) which have been designed specifically for fly tying for midges, emergers and dry flies. CWT are usually used on hook sizes 10 to 20. Many tyers are moving to our 12/0 thread in preference to traditional 8/0 because it is still strong with a breaking strain of 489gm (17.25oz) but presents a thinner profile thread. CWT threads are unique; laying flat with a two core construction but can easily be split to create dubbing loops and they are strong threads. We worked with our Pro Team to get the correct amount of wax on each thread to hold materials but not clog your bobbin holder with CWT. Having developed and manufactured our own computerized spooling machinery CWT is put onto the spool with touching turns in totally level traverse, why is this important? With CWT you will not get a birds nest when tying flies!
