Description

The Cascapedia Club is a slim, privately printed 1920 book by Frank Gray Griswold, the American sportsman who wrote dozens of books, many of them on salmon fishing, and printed many of them privately for distribution among his friends. Griswold was one of the members of the original Cascapedia Club, formed by prominent Americans who bought Quebec's Grand Cascapedia River from the provincial government in 1893. Printed by the Plimpton Press in Norwood, Massachusetts, the book is Griswold's guide to fishing the Grand Cascapedia, answering frequently asked questions about salmon behavior, illustrated with halftone plates and a river map. For collectors of Atlantic salmon literature and of Gaspé river history, it is a direct record from one of the river's early club members.
