The Waterworks Lamson Liquid Fly Reel provides maximum structural rigidity and durability while minimizing weight, things commonly found on reels with much larger price tags. The reel incorporates the proven conical drag system with premium CNC-machined components. A fully sealed drag keeps sand, dirt, snow, water and other debris out to ensure reliable, flawless operation even after seasons of hard use and abuse. Pressure-cast aluminum construction is lightweight and compliments the durability of the drag.
Let’s face it, die cast reels are intended to be low cost alternatives to a machined reel, right? Imported, heavier, easier to damage, plain Jane, etc. Well . . . not necessarily. When Lamson started creating Liquid they focused purely on the virtues and advantages a pressure-cast process can offer. Structurally you can do things with casting that you can’t machine, such as full radiused compound curves, near zero-radius inside corners, and for precise fit and finish you can go back and machine the cast part in critical areas amplifying the best aspects of the process. Lamson pushed back on other boundaries as well. How much of a reel at this price can Lamson make here in the U.S.? Quite a lot as it turns out, and it’s a good mix. These high quality castings are imported, but the components critical to the drag system are CNC-machined here in the U.S. Liquid reels are assembled in Boise alongside our highest priced reels. No other $100 reel can boast this much U.S. content and quality oversight. Nudging out a worthy old war horse like Konic wasn’t easy. It took a blank sheet of paper and sharp electrons. Enjoy the best of all worlds, including the best of Idaho, USA.
The Liquid offers everything you need in a fly reel at an absolute bang for your buck. The 3-pack is even more of an extreme value; it includes one reel and two spare spools in a nylon carrying case all for the price of one reel and one spool. This product offers beneficial interchangeability at ease for the multi-faceted angler.
