Made from American bison that roam and graze freely on the open prairie, Patagonia's Buffalo Jerky tastes exactly as it should—pure, robust and delicious. The 100% grass-fed, free-range, antibiotic- and hormone-free buffalo is lightly seasoned and dried for a flavorful, hearty snack that’s both portable and nutritious. The unopened package requires no refrigeration and is backpack, boat bag and shelf stable. We love this jerky as a convenient, tasty snack on the go, or as a satisfying supplement to camp meals.
Made from the same free roaming, 100% grass-fed American bison as Patagonia's Original Buffalo Jerky, the spicy version warms up your taste buds with the mellow heat of Aji Molido, a ground red pepper that’s organically grown for Patagonia in northwest Argentina. The irresistible sweet-tart flavor and mild spice provide just the kick to take our jerky to the next level. Unopened package requires no refrigeration and is backpack, boat bag and shelf stable.
Our Buffalo Jerky comes from the affiliated ranches of Wild Idea Buffalo, which represent more than 50,000 acres of recovering grasslands. Through their light grazing habits, nutrient input and soil-tilling hooves, the free-roaming bison of these ranches are vital to preserving the Great Plains ecosystem. Wild Idea harvests their buffalo in the field and processes them locally, providing jobs for the regional economy. This is a business we’re proud to support.

Our Buffalo Jerky is made from grass-fed buffalo that roam the wide-open prairie on Dan and Jill O’Brien’s Cheyenne River Ranch and other affiliated Wild Idea Buffalo ranches. These ranches, both large and small, are guided by a shared conservation ethic and a commitment to producing the highest quality meat. As Dan says, “Conservation and the protection of prairie biodiversity are our main products. Buffalo meat is the delicious byproduct that (sometimes) helps pay the bills.”
